Tomáš Chmelka specialises in IT law, intellectual property and industrial property law, the law of contract, and international commercial law.

In IT law he focuses primarily on the legal aspects of the life cycles of information systems, web applications, mobile applications and other computer programmes. He also deals with domain names and domain-related disputes.

Tomáš has been involved in numerous complex cross-border projects entailing technology transfers, development, production and supplies of various products and computer programmes. He has participated in projects of private corporations as well as public authorities.

Besides graduating from the Law Faculty of Masaryk University in Brno, Tomáš majored in System Engineering and Informatics at the Brno University of Technology. He also studied at the Northumbria University in Newcastle, England.

Before joining Havel & Partners in 2017, Tomáš worked at a Czech law firm where he primarily focused on dispute resolution agenda.
