HAVEL & PARTNERS, the largest Czech-Slovak law firm, has two new partners since October: Juraj Dubovský and Petr Vohnický. At the same time, the firm is expanding its career structure to include a new position of Associate Partner, which Róbert Gašparovič, Roman Světnický and Martin Stančík are taking up from their previous roles as Counsels.
One of the two new partners, Juraj Dubovský, works at the Slovak office of HAVEL & PARTNERS and has 18 years’ experience in top-tier legal practice. He specialises in resolving complex commercial disputes and representing clients before courts in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as in international arbitration proceedings. He also handles disputes relating to intellectual property, unfair competition, and the protection of personality rights. Juraj also has experience in highly complex disputes involving modern technologies, construction disputes and disputes in the energy sector.
Since October, Petr Vohnický, specialising primarily in resolving complex disputes, has also joined the ranks of partners at HAVEL & PARTNERS. He has been providing high-end legal services for nearly 15 years. He has extensive hands-on experience with complex cases, including disputes with an international element or regulatory aspects. He provides legal advice to leading global and Czech companies, primarily in the technology and electronic communications sectors, as well as to major banks and construction companies. Petr has extensive experience in litigation concerning compensation for damages arising from breaches of competition law, as well as in disputes relating to the squeeze-out of minority shareholders.
The HAVEL & PARTNERS team has long been committed to supporting talented lawyers and fostering their rapid career progression. Most of the firm’s partners have advanced to this position through internal promotion. Following the example of leading international law firms, HAVEL & PARTNERS is now introducing a new role – Associate Partner – as part of its systematic approach to training the next generation and fostering the professional and managerial development of its lawyers. Within the firm’s career structure, this role is positioned between managing associates and partners.
Róbert Gašparovič, a specialist in information technology law, intellectual property and AI from the Bratislava office; Roman Světnický from the Brno office, an expert in competition law, the public sector and regulation; and Martin Stančík from the Prague office, who has long specialised in capital markets, financial regulation and digital assets, are Associate Partners since October.
“The new position of Associate Partner creates a smoother career path and enables talented colleagues who are ready to take on some of the responsibilities of a partner to progress more quickly, thereby preparing them further for the role of partner,” said Petra Rudová, HR Director at HAVEL & PARTNERS.
At the same time, a further 11 people are being promoted to more senior roles within the firm. Vuk Djukić, Lukáš Jakoubek and Dalibor Slavík have become managing associates from October. Marek Brada, Vlaďka Holbíková, Dita Horňáková, Dáša Krupová, Tomáš Lupač, Jan Palacký, Jaroslav Seborský and Simona Tziata have been promoted to the role of senior associates.
With offices in Prague, Bratislava, Frankfurt, Brno, Pilsen, Olomouc and Ostrava, and a team of 400 legal professionals, tax advisors and patent attorneys, approximately 260 attorneys and a total staff of 750, HAVEL & PARTNERS is the largest independent law firm in Central Europe. For 12 years in a row, it has also been the most sought-after employer amongst law firms, according to the TOP Employers survey.
