Matúš Franko specialises in banking, finance and capital markets law, corporate law, and M&A.
In the area of capital markets law, he focuses primarily on financial regulation and advising entities supervised by the National Bank of Slovakia. In this area, Matúš has experience in several proceedings before the NBS concerning granting prior approvals and advising on granting authorisations for alternative investment fund managers and investment firms.
In the area of corporate law, he has experience in establishing, setting up internal governance and making various changes within companies. In the area of M&A, Matúš has experience in participating in several transactions, where he was involved in drafting and commenting on transfer and security agreements. In addition to that, he has experience in preparing several merger notifications and representing clients in pre-notification proceedings and in merger notification proceedings before the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic.
Prior to joining HAVEL & PARTNERS in 2023, Matúš worked first as an in-house lawyer and later as a junior associate at a major Slovak law firm, and as an associate at a major international law firm.
