The prestigious UK rating agency Who’s Who Legal has published a global overview of leading lawyers in the information technology sector, Who’s Who Legal: Data 2018. The list features 762 lawyers from all over the world and includes three representatives of the biggest Czech-Slovak law firm HAVEL & PARTNERS – managing partner Jaroslav Havel, partner Robert Nešpůrek and counsel Richard Otevřel. As a result, HAVEL & PARTNERS (before 31 December 2017 called Havel, Holásek & Partners) now has the highest number of listed specialists in the data field of all legal firms in the Czech Republic. 

“The up-to-date list of Who’s Who Legal: Data 2018 is another precious award for the entire team of legal experts. This team specialises not only in information technology, but also in telecommunications, media, e-commerce and personal data protection, now especially in connection with the EU’s GDPR,” says Robert Nešpůrek, head of the team that has been among the biggest in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for a number of years.

Who’s Who Legal also publishes the annual results of the best legal firms in the world – the Country and State Awards. In this competition, HAVEL & PARTNERS has received the best legal firm in the Czech Republic award for the sixth time in the past seven years.

HAVEL & PARTNERS (until 31 December 2017 Havel, Holásek & Partners) has provided comprehensive legal advice to SODECIA Automotive Europe GmbH from the SODECIA Group on acquiring shares in MATADOR Automotive in the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic and the Russian Federation, which are the leading suppliers for the automotive industry in the CEE region.

The seller was the Cypriot company M.I.L. MATINVESTMENTS LIMITED from MATADOR Group. Both parties have decided not to disclose the value of the transaction.

Havel, Holásek & Partners (from 1 January 2018 HAVEL & PARTNERS) has provided comprehensive legal advice to Tomáš Čupr’s Rohlik.cz investment a.s. It acquired a 14.52% share in VELKÁ PECKA s.r.o., which operates the rohlik.cz online store, and has become its majority owner. Rohlik.cz investment a.s. purchased the share from Enern Chili s.r.o.

The largest Czech-Slovak law firm HAVEL & PARTNERS (until 31 December 2017: Havel, Holásek & Partners) received the 2018 Corporate INTL award for the best law firm in the Czech Republic providing legal advice in the field of information technology law (IT Law – Law Firm of the Year in the Czech Republic).

As of 1 January 2018, Ludvík Juřička has joined the existing fourteen equity partners. During his nearly twenty-year legal career, Ludvík has not only provided attorney services at the highest level, but also gained managerial experience in two major international consulting companies. He is currently successfully managing HAVEL & PARTNERS’s office in Brno, which has undergone significant development in the last five years.  

Veronika Ryšávková was appointed a partner as the only non-legal professional; since 2015, Veronika has been the firm’s marketing director, she is co-responsible for the business, and she ensures media support and PR consulting as an additional service to HAVEL & PARTNERS’s clients. Over the past two years, with her marketing team Veronika has considerably contributed to the significant development of marketing and the strengthening of the firm’s brand. At the same time, as a graduate lawyer and economist, Veronika has participated in projects such as the foundation and development of the educational HAVEL & PARTNERS ACADEMY and the promotion of pro bono and CSR activities, which she will manage as a partner. Prior to joining HAVEL & PARTNERS, Veronika worked at the Ministry of Justice as head of the communications department and a spokesperson, then as chief director of the minister’s cabinet.
