Jan Šamánek specialises in litigation and arbitration. Jan also has extensive experience in corporate law, including corporate acquisitions, real estate transactions, and advising clients in the information technology sector.
He gained his expertise in procedural and commercial law both through his LLM studies at the prestigious University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and in practice. Jan started his career at the Czech Constitutional Court as assistant to Vice-President JUDr. Eliška Wagnerová, and later he worked at the Court of Justice of the EU in the departments of the current President Koen Lenaerts and of Advocate General Ján Mazák. He represented the Czech Republic at the EU Council meetings as the chief director of the Department of International Law at the Ministry of Justice.
Prior to joining our law firm, Jan worked for many years with international law firms and in private practice. In litigation matters he defended the rights of clients in all procedural positions.
